sub drain and perforated drainage pipeSub Drain and Perforated Drainage Pipe

Oxford Plastics manufactures corrugated sub-drain pipe and perforated dual wall draining pipe for road and highway construction. Our plastic pipe is ideal for surface and subsurface drainage applications where there is enough soil to support the pipe. Designed to gather or transport water by open gravity flow, our pipe can be used as culverts, storm drains, and edge drains. Along with proper storm sewer systems, corrugated sub-drain pipe promises long lasting performance of city streets, municipal roads and major highways.

Advantages of Corrugated Sub-Drain and Perforated Drainage Pipe
The secret to making a good road that is safe and resilient has always been proper drainage. If the foundation is dry, and the paved road surface is impervious to moisture and excessive water, the road should last forever. Designed to withstand the heavy load of the modern vehicle and the high traffic flow on our public roads, Oxford's drainage pipe protects roads from the damaging effects of subsurface and surface water. Keeping the road foundation stable and free of water is crucial in protecting the asphalt pavement from erosion and other forms of deterioration. A well drained road base is not only a road with greater traffic load carrying capability, but a road that is easy to maintain and much safer to travel.

Advantages of Polyethylene Drainage Pipe
Our drainage pipe has two to four times the service life of corrugated metal pipe. Its flexibility and lightweight make it much easier to assemble and install than metal or concrete pipe. Tough and rugged, polyethylene pipe can handle the load of soil pressures at depths of 100 feet and more. Polyethylene pipe is also extremely abrasion resistant making it ideal for even the most abrasive runoffs as well as the tensile stresses involved in relining existing pipes.

Applications of Polyethylene Drainage Pipe

  • Surface Drainage - perforated drainage pipe keeps the pavement bone dry by preventing surface and sitting water from penetrating the asphalt and devastating the highway.
  • Culverts - the tough and durable properties of hdpe pipe makes it the ideal choice for culverts under extremely heavy loads. Its superior abrasive resistance over other piping material such asbestos cement, concrete, aluminum, ABS and steel, make it more suitable for situations where there is high potential for corrosion. See more information on our culvert pipe.
  • Cross Drains - corrugated perforated pipe can be used as cross drains to capture water that collects on and drains down the surface of the road and releases it in a manner that minmizes the effects to adjacent areas and the watershed. Our pipe handles the pressures and loads associated with cross drain installations with ease and is perfect for those installations that require more flexibility.
  • Edge Drains - used as longitudinal edge drains, our corrugated pipe can be powerful weapon against water, the nemesis of roads. Edge drains preserve pavement structure by draining away excessive water and they ensure the safety of those using our streets and major highways by draining that water as quickly as possible. Our pipe delivers rapid drainage response and is perfect for all applications where time is a critical factor.
  • Erosion Control - drainage piping systems lessen the effect of heavy rain and snow on the landscape and gives vegetation more time to develop extensive root systems.
  • Bridge Piers - the impact resistant nature of hdpe pipe makes it a popular choice for use as casings for pouring bridge piers. Its high corrosive resistance rating makes it ideal for use in the most corrosive streams, unlike concrete pipe.
  • Slope Drains - perforated slope drainage pipe can be used to curb the soil erosion that occurs in ditches.
  • Bollards - a pole used to close a road or path to vehicles above a certain width. Bollards can be mounted close enough to block ordinary cars, for instance, but wide enough to permit special-purpose vehicles through.

If you're thinking about making a long term investment in a drainage system for road and highway construction, let our extensive experience in pipe drainage solutions help you to make the right decision.
