Advantages of HDPE Drainage Pipe
Since the 1970s corrugated heavy duty polyethylene pipe has been used for agriculture drainage systems. HDPE plastic pipe is extremely light weight, flexible, durable and corrosion resistant. These features make it ideal as drainage pipe which has to be able to handle the excessive loads and pressure associated with being buried in the ground. HDPE pipe can be used for a variety of agriculture applications including field drainage systems, road crossings, watershed spillways and irrigation canals. As the pipe of choice for drainage systems, we have made our own pipe to meet the needs of the farmer who is intrigued by the benefits of drainage.

Advantages of Drainage
There is no doubt that a drainage system will improve your crop yield. The implementation of a corrugated polyethylene pipe drainage system gives you more control over the moisture content of the soil than was ever thought possible. With Global Positioning Systems (GPS) not only can you check the overall condition of the soil, you can see how yielding patterns improve when moisture content is altered with a drainage system. Installing a drainage system has a number of impressive benefits. Control over the moisture content of the soil:

  • Reduces the effect of droughts and excessive water from heavy rains or snow.
  • Increases the temperature of the soil which loses its heat to excessive surface water.
  • Improves aeration and the nitrogen content of the soil which results in earlier germination and better root development.
  • Eliminates planting delays resulting in a longer growing season
  • Removes toxic material and disease organisms
  • Reduces soil erosion by creating better root systems

Drainage Pipe Applications
The main reason for installing drainage pipe is fourfold: to make land more accessible, to conserve land for future use, increasing crop yields and crop diversification. But in addition to its agricultural uses as a drainage tile, our drainage pipe can also be used to drain residential lawns and golf courses. Our drainage pipe applications include:

  • Subsurface Drainage
  • Ground Water Collection
  • Building or Foundation Drainage
  • Landscaping Drainage
  • Golf Course Drainage
  • Field Drainage Tile

While the implementation of a drainage system is a costly investment in the short term, these benefits should generate higher yields and overall profitability. If you're thinking about making a long term investment in a drainage system for your farm, let our extensive experience in agricultural drainage help you to make the right decision.
