by managing the supply of water independently of the weather. Regardless
of whether you are a farmer, have a lawn or take care of a golf
course, the most important thing is your control over the water
that reaches your plants. Irrigation pipe, that is reliable and

Advantages
of HDPE Irrigation Farm Pipe
Since the early 1970s polyethylene pipe has been used for agriculture,
residential and recreation irrigation systems. Conveying water to
an irrigation system requires similar structures to those found
in major canal networks. The conveyance itself can be an earthen
ditch, a buried pipe, or a lined ditch. Lined pipe sections can
be elevated in overhead and drip irrigation systems or constructed
at surface or below the surface levels for surface or subsurface
systems. Pipe materials are usually plastic, steel, concrete, clay,
or asbestos cement, or they may be as simple as a wooden or bamboo
construction. While these other kinds of pipe are still in use,
polyethylene pipe offers you significant advantages.
HDPE plastic irrigation pipe is extremely
light weight, flexible, durable, corrosion resistant and leak tight.
These features make it perfect for implementing an irrigation system
where the effects of constant water flow and soil degradation are
extreme. Its smooth interior and high flow rates prevents clogging
by dirt or deposits from unfiltered water in finely-tuned systems
like the trickle or drip irrigation systems. Our irrigation pipe
can be used for a variety of agriculture applications including
field basin irrigation systems, furrow or channel irrigation systems,
overhead and irrigation canals. At Oxford Plastic we have made it
our mission to make sure that our own pipe can meet the demands
of any modern day irrigation systems.
Applications
of Irrigation Pipe
For centuries irrigation system have improved our ability to grow
all sorts of plants under a variety of conditions. From rice paddies,
residential laws, farms to well manicured putting greens, the implementation
of a polyethylene pipe irrigation system gives you more control
over the moisture content of the soil than ever before. Installing
a irrigation system has a number of impressive benefits. Irrigation
or the provision of water to the soil:
- Increases plant quality and crop yields
- Controls the excessive water from floods
or heavy rains.
- Reduces the waste of water
- Gets water to where it is needed - the
roots of the plant
- Reduces evaporation and the increase of
salt in the soil
- Prevents the growth of fungi and other
bacterial disease
- Supplies water to hard to reach areas.
Although the installation of irrigation pipe can be an enormous
undertaking, the benefits easily outweigh the costs. If you're thinking
about making a long term investment in a irrigation system for your
fields, golf course or lawn, don't hesitate to ask any questions
you might have.
